Prescription Assistance

The inability to purchase prescription drugs can be a great burden. CAAC strives to reduce economic stress, promote better health and improve the quality of life of Central Alabama’s older population by providing ways to reduce the expense of life-sustaining medications.

SenioRx is a partnership of state agencies and community organizations that assists seniors with applying for patient assistance programs sponsored by many pharmaceutical manufacturers. These programs make medications available for low-income seniors.

To be eligible for patient assistance programs a person must:

  • Be at least 55 years of age or be receiving Social Security Disability Income without Medicare or Medicaid benefits, and;
  • Be a legal resident of the State of Alabama
  • Have a chronic medical condition
  • Have NO prescription insurance coverage
  • Have a limited income (annual household less than $20,420 for 1 person, less than $27,380 for 2 persons

To apply for the SenioRx program, you may call 334-240-4666 or 800-264-4680 or you may download the application at www.ageline.net (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader). Complete the application form and return it to:
